Cleo came to our home from a farm, soon after we lost our beloved Angel. Cleo was
very different than Angel. Always alert always looking to get into mischief.
Cleo quickly settled into her new home and became a loving member of our family. When Cleo was just a year old we moved to 15 Newport Lane in Port Dover.
Cleo loved being an indoor cat but was always quick to escape to the outdoors when either the front door or the door to the garage was opened, never venturing far. The cats loved being on the balcony, especially on hot summer days when they could spend virtually the entire day out there.
I just rediscovered these pictures. Since Cleo recently went to heaven (July 27th 2015) I decided to start this page dedicated to our cats.
The page started (September 22nd 2015) with Cleo's first Christmas but I am sure I will add pictures of our other feline family members as time goes on, including many of Cleo herself.
Our cats have brought immeasurable joy to our lives; so having a page dedicated to the memories of our loved ones seems appropriate.

Our Cleo – A final farewell
Sadly the inevitable happened. Our wonderful companion Annie left us for the great
beyond to be with her life companion Cleo, for eternity. It was January 6th 2017 shortly after 2:00 A.M. that Annie jumped up and snuggled in my arms as she had
so often before. This time however some strange noises alerted me to something being different and as I was petting her I realised that she seemed unresponsive and limpish.
I tried to massage her chest, she seemed to respond momentarily but then went completely limp.
I am comforted by the circumstances of her passing. Knowing that she was in my loving arms
at her last moment on this side of heaven. Just knowing Annie was being loved and knowing that she did not suffer is comforting at this extremely sad moment in our lives.
While all our Cat family were well behaved loving and great company, Annie was the
most docile and affectionate, yet often the most independent and self-reliant in many
ways.
Angel lived with us for nearly 19 years, Cleo was with us for close to 16 years and
despite the very difficult early life, Annie kept us company for just over 12 years,
Sonny (Gypsy) a Feral cat, enjoyed the comforts of our love and home for less than a year due to an incurable illness acquired in the wild. Sonny adapted to domestication and Cleo's companionship. It seemed that Sonny not only learned to play but to actually
enjoy life while in our home.
Both Angel and Cleo came to us as just weaned kittens but Annie was about a year old
by the time she became a loving member of our family.
Our loved ones are together again.
No more hunger, no more pain; eternal peace and loving memories that will last a lifetime and perhaps beyond.
Cleo and Annie had a perfectly harmonious relationship. They spent a great deal of time playing and sleeping together, yet spent quality time independent of each other. Cleo and Annie, so close for so many years, are together for eternity in the mysterious universe. As cats will, they interfaced with us mere humans, each in their own way.
Our Annie – A final farewell

As you may have noticed, it is difficult to find pictures of our beloved Annie and Cleo
when they are not together. These two were often inseparable. Cleo was almost twice
the size of Annie but Annie held her own in any tussle, often initiated the mock fights.
They would run across the house and down the stairs with one following the other, only
to come running up the stairs having changed from being the chased, to being the chaser,
then snuggling together for a catnap. You may get the impression from the above images
that Annie slept most of the time and it's not far from the truth but she did
manage to spend quality time with her human servants. Annie loved to ride along on my
shoulder, frequently jumping quite a distance to my shoulder but in latter years
she asked to be raised up, since her jumping skills had diminished.
Annie provided some surprises when she joined us. Not only were her paws pink and black but even the roof of her mouth was surprisingly pink and black, as you may have noticed in images above, where she is stretching and yawning.
Just a week before Annie left us, I got a new SLR digital camera that I was looking forward to using, to finally take a good portrait of Annie, but she departed before I managed to master the intricacies of the new camera.
