John & Marlyne 50th Celebration Pictures
The Bible Reminds Us – In Ecclesiastes 3: 1 to 9 - We are reminded about the order of life.
Water can be seen in a large sinkhole that formed on Rideau Street next to the Rideau Centre mall in downtown Ottawa on Wednesday June 8th 2016. The sinkhole is about three stories deep. We were there on Saturday June 4th following the Celebration of Life for Kelly. While there, we once again discovered Dunn's and enjoyed the best smoked meat sandwich, this side of Montreal, for breakfast. It seems that some of Dunn's Famous Delis closed (including the Dalhousie St. and Elgin St. locations) due to losses during the Covid Pandemic. If you want GREAT Montreal Smoked Meat you will have to search for a location near you. Dunn's website(s) are NOT great.

We currently are blessed with 2 beautiful companions, Annie and Cleo.
Annie came to us from the Vet. Abandoned and pregnant at a very young age
she found love and shelter with our Vet, awaiting a loving adoptive home.
She is a good natured affectionate companion.
Cleo came from a barn yard,
soon after we lost our Angel, who kept us company for over 18 years.
Our Cleo
accepted newcomers after a short adjustment period.
Sonny Gypsy
came to us from the ravine in the back yard. Extremely timid unaccustomed to
humanity but willing to accept nourishment and eventually domestication.
Sonny while in the wild acquired an untreatable condition that took him from us
after only a short time (12/07/2001).
Stormy, a tiny kitten, found shelter in our garage
in the middle of a severe snow storm
March 8th 2008. Having 2 pets already we found a loving home for Stormy.
Stormy now called Pawgee is the queen of her new home. Danny and Marie love
Pawgee like few pets are loved and cared for.
Pets are a wonderful addition to any home, in fact no home is complete without at least one loving companion. Pets accept you as you are and love you unconditionally as long as you feed them of course. Our wonderful pets bring enormous joy and pleasure, completing our lives and home.
One of the most deeply touching examples of love that haunts me each time I recall it is:
There are many examples of dogs and cats licking the tears from their human companions; they understand our pain and sorrow as well as our joy. Many dogs and cats have exhibited incredible bravery saving human lives, often at great peril to themselves.
In reality our companions are not merely pets but members of our family, who give us
not only their unconditional love but their complete trust and affection. Gloria would not leave the house without making sure she said bye to our feline family, only to wait for them to come and greet us as we re-entered their domain, regardless of how long we were absent.
A recent guest to our home arrived one night in early December 2010. A futile search for its family resulted in a search for a loving caring home. We named the girl Holly for obvious reasons. Holly is a lovely tortoiseshell with a loving quiet manner but a huge appetite. Holly is going to a loving home just in time for Christmas to keep an elderly lady company. I am sure they will share a lot of love and joy together. The last image is Holly with her new Mom

Harry Belafonte - Jamaica Farewell
–
Lyrics
Cleo Notice – Cleo our faithful and loving companion left us today, July 27th 2015.
Our Annie – A final farewell, January 6th 2017
Michael Bolton – How Am I Supposed To Live Without You –
Lyrics
Gloria fell in love with this song because it reminded her of Dawn and the unconditional and undying love she felt for her precious daughter.
Gloria's Theme Song
The Hollies – The Air That I Breathe –
Lyrics
We are once again saddened. Our beloved
Annie, passed into eternal peace January 6th 2017.
Annie was small in stature but
HUGE in affection, with a wonderful personality.
So it is that we are living in an empty house filled with wonderful memories of
love and companionship. When our loved ones leave, they leave a huge void, and
millions of treasured memories. The wonderful times we shared are for ever etched in
our memories and recalled often, to brighten our day. We are truly blessed to have
had such unique and wonderful experiences with every one of those who came into
our lives and left indelible footprints in out hearts. If there is a heaven, I am
convinced that our companions are far more likely to be there than our own chances
of joining them in their eternal peace.
Even though they are gone, they
live forever in our hearts and memories.
A page Dedicated to our cats. They deserve their own page. (Cleopatra.html)
Together Again
Precious memories of our loved ones live forever etched in our memories and hearts.
The void they leave is enormous and can not be left unfilled for long. While loved ones can never be replaced, the need for companionship is a burning desire that must be answered. Three weeks after our Annie left us, we found a new member of the family to complete our home on (01/27/2017)
Callie from the Greek meaning
Most Beautiful
makes our family and home whole again.
We are not aware of Callie's precise birth date but it is somewhere between September
and October 2016. The Humane society assigned October 10, 2016 as her birthday, so we will celebrate annually on October 10th. The given name when we adopted was Anna, but there was no way we were going to have an Anna after just losing our precious Annie. Gloria christened the youngest member of our family Callie, after a character in one
of her TV serials; but because Callie is at least part Calico, the name seems most appropriate and she is stuck with it from this day forward.
