The final year for minting the Canadian 1¢ (penny)
In Economic Action Plan 2012, the Government announced it would phase out the penny from Canada's coinage system. The decision to phase out the penny was due to its excessive and rising cost of production relative to face value, the increased accumulation of pennies by Canadians in their households, environmental considerations, and the significant handling costs the penny imposes on retailers, financial institutions and the economy in general.
The estimated savings for taxpayers from phasing out the penny is $11 million a year.
The cent will remain Canada's smallest unit for pricing goods and services. This will have no impact on payments made by cheque or electronic transactions—only cash transactions will be affected. Moreover, pennies can still be used in cash transactions indefinitely with businesses that choose to accept them.
Important Dates
To help consumers, businesses, charities and financial institutions to plan, a transition date of February 4, 2013 has been set after which the Royal Canadian Mint will no longer distribute pennies.
On this date, businesses will be encouraged to begin rounding cash transactions.

As with ALL images these images are scalable to hopefully meet your specific needs. Some of the images look shabby full size but generally they are not used at such enormous magnification, (half or quarter size improves quality). Having the ability to scale large images to your needs is a bonus. The background for transparent images is provided so you can see how they will appear on coloured or textured backgrounds. By default images are displayed on white background when you click to view the full size image. Nothing worse than blotching your web pages with images in white squares but often it is the only image source to tell your story and not offensive on white background.

Have a COOL one on me

Today I was beaten up by a woman ... I was in the elevator when that busty lady got in.
I was staring at her boobs, when she said, would you please press one...?
So I did.
I don't remember much afterwards .... Recovery time 4 - 6 week.

The Tartans of Canada are one of the lesser known symbolic items that represent Canada. Here are the official and non-official tartans of Canada, the provinces, and the territories (except Nunavut which has yet to create its unique tartan). |

1. Maple Leaf * |
|
The Maple Leaf Tartan was created in 1964 by David Weiser in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of Canada’s confederation in 1967. It was designed to be worn by Canadians from all backgrounds regardless of their ancestry, as a symbol of national pride.
The colours of the maple leaf through the changing seasons became the basis for the design. The pattern incorporates the green of the leaves’ summer foliage, the gold that first appears in the early autumn, the red that appears with the coming of the first frost, and the brown tones of the fallen leaves. The design proved to be very popular throughout Canada.
The Maple Leaf Tartan has been recognized for decades as Canada’s unofficial national tartan. It was made an official national symbol by ministerial declaration on March 9, 2011.
The Maple Leaf Tartan (larger swatch) is closely associated with other existing official national symbols, such as the beaver, maple leaf and the maple tree. The maple leaf is the recognized symbol of Canada throughout the world.

Hard to keep up with all the social media and its getting more prolific daily. Not sure how many you use but it becomes a full time activity to keep up on all the chatter even if you only use two or three of these. The nightmare of trying to protect your privacy is incredible.
